The Boardwalk – Marina Community Space

In partnership with ECT, O|X Studio was tasked with designing a versatile multi-purpose structure integrated with the park’s new boardwalk. The new structure was intended to provide shaded respite from the elements, serve as a seasonal marketplace, and accommodate the storage and/or rental of kayaks or paddle boards to the public. While the initial phase involved exploring the adaptive reuse of an existing boathouse, structural limitations led to the development of a completely new, modern facility. The resulting design offers an inviting, open-air experience for the public while remaining fully secure during off-hours.
