Grace Bible Church Youth Fellowship Building

O|X Studio partnered with Grace Bible Church in Ann Arbor, MI, to design an addition that reimagines youth ministries and community programs. The project addressed a 10-foot elevation change, turning a challenge into an opportunity: gently sloped ramps and extended corridors create smooth, accessible circulation without steps, elevators, or retaining walls.

A hybrid construction approach – load-bearing masonry classrooms, steel-framed corridors, and a pre-engineered metal gym – provides modern, adaptable spaces for children and youth from nursery through high school. Flexible layouts support expanded community outreach and engagement, while thoughtful materials, including burnished masonry with simulated wood accents and discreet, energy-efficient HVAC systems, give the building a cohesive, inviting feel. The design balances function and inspiration, positioning the church to grow and serve its community for years to come.
